Friday Night and Race Prep!

Last night we went to watch the Yanks after work. I was really excited because I love Friday night games. Normally weeknight games run so late and then I have to get up early the next day for work. Louis met me after work and we arrived at the stadium super early. We typically eat at the Mohegan, a sports bar in the stadium, but last second we decided we were in no mood for that and would actually prefer a fancy date night! Up to the Audi Club we went for the most delicious food! I was really glad we ended up doing this because I was trying to figure out how I could possibly create a healthy dinner and it ended up being the easiest thing ever. I loaded my plate up with healthy protein and veggies and relaxed in the comfy chairs while we relaxed and talked about our week.

Don't worry I didn't eat all that sushi myself...I had a little help!!

If you could see the dessert bar, you would realize that I had the carrot of all desserts. I didn't feel too guilty splurging on that rice crispy treat...it was delicious..and hey you gotta live a little!

Louis's highlight of the night? Free Cracker Jacks.
A bit after the game started, it went into rain delay.
We decided to to head out since we were only in the 3rd inning and it was already after nine. We've never done that before...but it didn't seem like it was going to let up any time soon.
Not to mention...the guy sitting next to me was taking a serious snooze and kept bonking into me.
Such a fun date night even though the game was delayed!!

Today I got up early, because this body finds it impossible to sleep in, packed Louis some snacks for his day and made some apple carrot juice - because that kind is my fave. I was also in the mood for dark chocolate granola with banana. I'll be honest, these two didn't go well together so I saved the juice for later.

Then I made my way to the city for some last minute errands. I don't think I've mentioned it...but tomorrow I'm doing the Spartan Sprint! I'm really excited!! I've never done anything like it before. I've amped up my endurance workouts the past couple weeks to help prepare myself. This week I've consumed extra carbs, got extra sleep, and have gotten myself super hydrated. I'm not sure how it'll go, but if you know me you know that I'm not a super daring person, so I'll say, I'm just proud of myself for attempting it. I feel as ready as I can be and I'm really just excited to get out there and start running!

I took this on my way home. We used to always drive by this street, it's our favorite one, and now we are lucky enough to walk past it every day. Isn't it the prettiest?
Set out all my race day essentials so that I don't forget anything.

More details upon completion of the Spartan! Wish me luck!

  1. AHH! I want to do a Spartan Race so bad! Even have a free entry to one, if I want it. There aren't any in Detroit though, so it will be tricky to plan one out of town once the season starts. Excited to read about it!

    1. Oh man it was SO FUN!!! You have to try to make it to one. Depending on your schedule...you could always come to NY for Tough Mudder in October and stay with me!
